Liam Rosenior has explained his changes ahead of tonight’s huge Round of 16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain, which our head coach is confident the Blues will play without fear.

We head into this clash at the Bridge full of belief, according to Rosenior, despite suffering a disappointing 5-2 defeat in the first leg in Paris last week.

Speaking ahead of kick-off, Rosenior explained why Malo Gusto and Benoit Badishille are absent for tonight's clash, and that he has full faith in Jorrel Hato and Mamdou Sarr, who replace the duo.

‘Malo and Badiashile both pulled out today very late with illness,’ the Chelsea head coach said.

‘This is what football is about sometimes, it throws these things up, and you have to be able to adapt. For Jorrel, who has been outstanding, and for Mamadou, who is an outstanding player and I’ve worked with him before, it’s an opportunity to show what they’re about, and going into this game with no fear.’

And playing with ‘no fear’ is key this evening, according to the boss. He appreciates that there is a difficult task ahead, but knows the Blues can overturn the three-goal deficit if at our best.

‘Now we have to be in control of this game, and we have to be near-perfect,’ he added. ‘We have to go in with lots of energy and no fear to get back into this tie.

‘We know we’re capable, I saw the lads do it in the summer and score three goals against this team, but we’re going to have to do it again.

‘It’s Stamford Bridge on a Tuesday night in the Champions League – this is what you live for.’
