Liam Rosenior says his Chelsea players must be ready to stand-up to the intense challenge Leeds United will pose at Stamford Bridge this evening.

After a difficult start to the campaign, which left the Whites in the relegation zone, their form has markedly improved since the beginning of December.

Daniel Farke's side have now lost just two of their previous ten league matches and make the journey down from Yorkshire off the back of a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest last Friday.

'They were magnificent in that game,' Rosenior said at his pre-match press conference. 'Very forward thinking and direct. And when I say direct, I mean it in a really positive way: they use the strengths of their team.

'They use Dominic (Calvert-Lewin) – his movement in the box is outstanding – and they get corners in the box and counter-press really well. We have to stand up to that and overcome the intensity [they will bring], which is key to the game.’

In the first meeting between the two sides at Elland Road in December, Leeds claimed an impressive 3-1 victory.

That defeat came before Rosenior's time at Chelsea got underway, but the Blues head coach has watched the game back during his pre-match preparation and expects another difficult test for his side tonight.

'Going to Elland Road is always really, really difficult,' he explained. 'It's a club where their fans back them really, really strongly at home.

'Daniel (Farke) is an outstanding coach and you can see in their recent performances as well, (Dominic) Calvert Lewin is really good form, they press, they’re energy, they’re direct in a really positive way.

'So, it's going to be a really difficult game against them again.'
