Liam Rosenior provided an update on Blues duo Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, with both missing out on the matchday squad for our game against Brighton later this evening.

Kick-off is fast approaching at the Amex with Chelsea looking to return to winning ways following a narrow 1-0 defeat at the Bridge to Manchester United on the weekend.

Before the players take to the pitch, Rosenior's team news revealed that both Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro haven't made the matchday squad, with the former having featured against the Red Devils and the latter having missed Saturday's contest.

Our head coach explained: 'Cole's had some tightness in his hamstring, which he's been carrying. He's going to be out for this game, and we'll see how he moves on for the FA Cup semi-final.

'I think Joao Pedro will be good for Sunday, but this game has come too close for him.'

Although disappointed to miss the duo's quality tonight, Rosenior believes that the Blues have the strength in depth to compete with Brighton.

'With Estevao it's a blow, and with Joao Pedro and Cole, but we still have some outstanding players in the team,' he continued.

'Enzo Fernandez can create and score goals and has done so all season, like Pedro Neto has, and Liam Delap was really close to getting his goal on Saturday. We need to make sure it's a really strong team performance this evening.'
