Having impressed during a season-long loan with Crystal Palace during the 2025/26 campaign, Brown is now back at Chelsea and embarking on her first summer tour with the senior squad.

As the Blues’ preparations for the new season continue overseas, along with fixtures against Auckland in New Zealand and an A-League All-Stars side in Sydney, Australia, the midfielder shared her enthusiasm for the trip.

‘I absolutely can't wait, I’m so excited,’ said Brown. ‘We’re going to Australia as well – I’ve never been to Australia, but I've always wanted to go. It's a destination I've always wanted to visit.’

Although this is her first pre-season tour with Chelsea, she has had plenty of experience of playing abroad from her time representing England at various youth levels and it is something she has always enjoyed, with their run to the 2024 Under-17 Women’s World Cup semi-finals a particular highlight.

‘I've always loved the foreign trips,’ she continued. ‘I feel like you can travel a lot with football and experience different places, so I absolutely love it.

‘The best trip I’ve had so far was probably to the Dominican Republic for the youth World Cup a few years ago. That was pretty cool because it was just such a different culture and environment.

‘I got to see it a little bit towards the end. Obviously the trip was packed with football as it was a big tournament, but even just travelling to and from games and training, looking outside and just seeing the country, it was a brilliant experience.

‘So I'm so excited to be going to Australia as well and getting to see a bit more of the world in a new place.’

Just like in 2024, she will be joined on this summer’s trip by her close friend Las, who recently joined Chelsea from Leicester City to become Brown’s new team-mate.

‘We are house-mates as well! We've been friends for ages, all through the England youth age groups, so to see her in a Chelsea shirt is great.

‘I'm just so excited. Me and her have always been friends through England. I’ve been trying to get her to come to Chelsea for quite a while, every time I see her!’

Brown herself has been at Chelsea for some time, progressing through the youth system at Cobham before making her senior debut. After her spell across London last season, she believes she comes back stronger for the experience and better prepared to play her part in the coming campaign.

‘I loved the environment at Palace,’ added the 18-year-old. ‘I think it was a good stepping stone for me to get more experience and then come back into this environment with more senior experience, so it was great.

‘Here, obviously with such world-class players as well, the speed of play and everything in training is massive, but I do think Palace helped me grow as a player so much.

‘You’ve got to get that confidence, take a bit of time and learn from different players. It's always going be difficult stepping into a world-class environment, but it's also a great challenge.’
