Lucy Bronze stressed it was important the Blues returned home from Brighton & Hove Albion with at least a point after we came from behind to draw 2-2.
Sonia Bompastor's side dropped points for only the second time this season at Broadfield Stadium. Sandy Baltimore had given Chelsea the lead, before goals from Marisa Olislagers and Vicky Losada saw the Seagulls take a 2-1 advantage into half-time.
Lauren James netted her third goal of the season and her second in as many league games just after the hour mark to keep our unbeaten run intact, a run now standing at 25 games across all competitions.
The draw against Brighton sees the Blues move onto 41 points after 15 games played, sitting five clear of second-placed Manchester United.
'The most important thing was making sure we take points home,' Bronze reflected after Sunday's encounter. 'We didn't want to lose the game and we started the second half 2-1 down, so we got back into the game and got a point.
'Brighton are unbeaten at home (in their last eight WSL games) and I think they showed that.'
Bronze continued: 'At the start, we had moments where we were good but I think Brighton really had that bit between their teeth from the start. They picked us apart a few times.
'Coming from 2-1 down and then trying to win the game, in the end, we didn't quite do enough.'
Since returning from injury in January, James has been in impressive form. Her last two goals, a last-minute winner against Everton a fortnight ago and her equaliser against Brighton, have proven to be invaluable to her side's fortunes.
'Me and LJ have always got on really well since she started playing with England because we're like yin and yang - opposites,' Bronze said. 'She's an amazing player to play with and obviously has great things to her game.'
Following the draw against Brighton, Bronze was asked whether the Blues may be feeling vulnerable when they host Leicester City - who drew 1-1 with Bompastor's side in December - at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.
But, the full-back insists the Blues know there is still another level to be found and improvements that need to be made if we are to achieve our goals.
'All the noise is from the outside,' Bronze said. 'On the inside, we're very much focused on what we have to do, how good we are and what we need to work on.
'We're not silly to think we're perfect and that we're going to conquer everything easily. We have to work hard. And against Brighton, we worked harder in the second half and got the goal.'
