Fresh from her first appearance in Chelsea blue, Maelys Mpome is now looking forward to the competitive action getting underway in less than a fortnight’s time.
The French defender came off the bench during the second half of our 9-0 win against Feyenoord at Kingsmeadow, a few days after completing her transfer from Montpellier.
‘It was such a nice experience for me and I’m so happy,’ she beamed.
‘I couldn’t wait any more to play my first game in blue. It feels so nice. The atmosphere was so nice, all the fans made a great atmosphere.
‘I can’t wait for the first game,’ she added ahead of our meeting with Aston Villa on Friday 20 September.
‘We are working hard for that and we just can’t wait.’
