The teenage midfielder was born in Sydney, Australia, before moving to the UK and growing up in London, where he joined the Chelsea Academy.

After progressing through the youth ranks and signing his scholarship to go full-time earlier this summer, Nicoll-Jazuli was included in Xabi Alonso’s squad for the 2026 pre-season tour.

He came off the bench to replace Dario Essugo at the start of the second half in our first friendly against Western Sydney Wanderers and did so again in the game with Tottenham Hotspur, both in Sydney, before being named in the starting XI for the meeting with Juventus in Hong Kong.

‘It’s been top, and I feel like, coming back to my home country, it’s just a proud moment,’ Nicoll-Jazuli told us out on tour.

‘It’s ironic that I’m making my debut, my unofficial debut, at Chelsea in Sydney. I was there when I was young so I wasn’t really there for long, growing up in London. And from leaving when I was about two or three, I feel like coming back there was just meant to be. So I’m really proud to have made it there.

‘It’s important obviously to have my family there, they’ve done everything for me. I’m so grateful for them. So being able to see me make my debut, obviously they’re very proud and I’m very grateful.’
