Malo Gusto made his 100th Chelsea appearance in tonight's memorable Champions League victory over Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.

The France international started for the Blues at right-back and helped us establish a 1-0 lead against the La Liga champions; an own goal from Jules Kounde, coupled with a red card shown to Ronald Araujo, ensured we went into the interval ahead.

Gusto was replaced at the break by Andrey Santos, with skipper Reece James moving into right-back. The Blues took full advantage of their extra man in the second half and a stunning individual goal from Estevao Willian and a strike from Liam Delap secured an impressive victory.

A deal for Gusto to join the Blues was agreed in January 2023, although he spent the remainder of that campaign back on loan at Lyon.

His Chelsea debut came on the opening weekend of the following campaign; Gusto made a cameo appearance off the substitutes' bench in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool. He soon established himself as a regular in the side, making 37 appearances in all competitions during his maiden season.

Gusto's influence grew in his second campaign as a Blue, during which he was often deployed as an inverted full-back under Enzo Maresca. The 22-year-old would make 48 appearances as we claimed the UEFA Conference League and won the FIFA Club World Cup.

His appearance in the final of the latter, where he was used as a buckaneering full-back, was a vital component of the game plan that helped us overcome Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to be crowned world champions.

A memorable moment for Gusto arrived early in the current campaign. In his 98th appearance, he broke his goalscoring duck with a close-range header that helped us to victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Congratulations on your landmark appearance, Malo!
