Chelsea’s Malo Gusto had a hand in two of France's goals during the 3-1 victory over Northern Ireland as Les Bleus continued their pre-World Cup preparations.
The 2022 finalists were in action for the final time before they take on Senegal in their Group I opener in New York, New Jersey, and were a goal up before half-time in Lille after Michael Olise scored his first of three, with Malo introduced during the break to replace Jules Kounde.
Good work from Gusto on the right flank saw the Blues man's cross parried out, leaving Olise to emphatically make it two four minutes after the restart.
Northern Ireland reduced the arrears a quarter of an hour later, but the setback failed to halt France's momentum. The winger rounded off his hat-trick in style, collecting a pass from Gusto before curling a fine effort into the net from outside the box.
Malo's Les Bleus will now head Stateside, where they will resume work for their opening match on Tuesday 16 June.
Meanwhile, Jorrel Hato was an unused substitute during the Netherlands’ 2-1 win over Uzbekistan. Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo got a brace, scoring twice from the penalty spot in their final match before their World Cup campaign begins on Sunday against Japan.
