Enzo Maresca has outlined how he has worked with Enzo Fernandez this season and believes the midfielder can continue to improve further.
It’s been another productive campaign for the midfielder who has, since joining in January 2023, become a mainstay in the middle of the park for the Blues.
With six goals and seven assists to his name this season, it’s also been the Argentine’s most prolific year at the Bridge, a success which has been noticed by the head coach with Fernandez having taken the captaincy on multiple occasions.
Maresca believes that the 24-year-old still has plenty of room to keep developing in all aspects of his game and is excited to see more of him having collaborated closely throughout the season.

‘I’ve worked with him both on and off the pitch,’ Maresca opened. ‘At the beginning, he was playing in one way all his life, previously with Benfica and Argentina, but for us, it’s more about understanding where he has to stay, but also arrive when we are attacking.’
Our head coach has no doubts that Enzo can surpass his own impressive goal contribution numbers when discussing his role within the squad.
Maresca added: ‘I think he scores goals, but he also, in terms of assists, has important numbers.
‘I don’t have any doubts that starting next season from the first game, he can improve his numbers even more.’
