Ahead of tomorrow’s match against Manchester United, Enzo Maresca discussed Estevao Willian’s talent and versatility, as well as underlining why a visit to Old Trafford is always a difficult challenge.

Chelsea travel to Manchester for a late afternoon kick-off in the Premier League on Saturday, looking to bounce straight back from Wednesday’s loss at Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League by continuing our strong start to the domestic campaign, where we remain unbeaten.

Before making the trip north, Maresca was asked about his attacking options for our next game and the season ahead. Those options were boosted in midweek, when Cole Palmer was back in the starting line-up on his 100th Chelsea appearance, as well as Estevao returning from the bench for his Champions League debut.

In Munich, Palmer started on the right wing, before shifting position as Estevao and others were introduced, with Maresca believing the duo have both the quality and versatility to provide a threat from anywhere across our front line.

‘Estevao can be great in all the attacking positions because his talent is very good, he’s a top player, but at the same time he’s 18 years old so he needs a little bit of time,’ said Enzo.

‘But I think both Estevao and Cole can play wide and they both can play as a No10. I feel very lucky to have both of them with us.’

That helps give Maresca plenty of options in attack for Saturday’s game. Our opponents have endured a difficult start to their own season, with two defeats in their first four Premier League games, including a painful 3-0 derby loss to Manchester City last time out.

However, that hasn’t dampened our head coach’s respect for his opposite number Ruben Amorim, who is embarking on his first full season in the Man Utd dugout.

‘The only thing I can say is that I really appreciate Ruben. I’ve watched Ruben’s games since he was at Sporting, he’s a magnificent manager.

‘Like all managers, when you start a new project sometimes you can struggle a little bit more or a little bit less, but at the end you are going to struggle. But I don’t have any doubts that he’s a fantastic manager.’

We take the journey to Manchester for the third of four consecutive away trips for the Blues, taking in three different competitions. Old Trafford has not been a happy venue for Chelsea in recent years, with our last victory there coming in May 2013.

It has been suggested that Man Utd’s difficult start to the season may give us a better chance of success this time around, but Maresca knows that Old Trafford is never an easy place for any team to visit.

‘I think it’s always difficult to play United away in their stadium, at Old Trafford,’ countered Maresca.

‘So I don’t think now is the right moment or next year will be the right moment or last year was the right moment. It’s always difficult. It’s a difficult team, it’s a difficult stadium.

‘I watched the games that they have played this season and some of the games were not the real result. Even the City game, until 1-0 or 2-0 they were in the game. When the game was 0-0 they had a few chances to score and to go ahead.

‘So it will be a tough game, no doubt.’
