The Blues supporters had to wait three weeks for this game due to the international break, but Chelsea wasted no time racing into an early lead once they returned to the pitch and ran away to a 5-1 victory over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues were two goals ahead within the opening three minutes of the game, as Jordan Henderson enjoyed a dream home debut. First he swept in a second-minute goal from Cole Palmer's pass, then he teed up Morgan Rogers to find the top corner - via a small deflection off Antonio Silva - just a minute later.
We consolidated our lead over the remainder of the opening 45, before flying out of the blocks again from the restart. Joao Pedro added his name to the score sheet one minute into the second half by smashing into the roof of the net, following good work on the right by Pedro Neto.
Bournemouth managed to pull one back through Evanilson, but normal service was soon resumed when Pep Chavarria's low cross provided Joao Pedro with a simple close-range finish. Henderson then popped up again to curl in a pinpoint free-kick, completing a memorable afternoon for the England midfielder and an emphatic win for the Blues.
