Supporters turned out in their numbers and were delighted to see their Chelsea heroes in the flesh. The Blues put on a show for those in the stands, with Sandy Baltimore putting us ahead early on with a sublime left-footed strike.

Soon after, Sjoeke Nusken's shot bounced awkwardly under the goalkeeper to make it 2-0, and we went in two goals to the good at the interval.

The match then settled into a rhythm of neat passing from the Blues, and physical defending from the A-League players to try to keep us from adding to the scoreline. Yet young midfielder Lexi Potter found the back of the net midway through the second half, letting fly with a powerful drive from the edge of the box.

The Blues fans in Sydney made themselves heard throughout, and our players felt their support and good wishes. This has been a pre-season tour to remember and has been the perfect preparation for the season ahead.

Rapturous welcome for Carpenter

Sonia Bompastor made three changes to her starting line-up from the side that ran out as 7-0 winners in Auckland on Saturday. Hannah Hampton came in for Livia Peng in goal, while Lucy Bronze captained the side as she replaced Kadeisha Buchanan. Lauren James missed out in New Zealand, but came straight into the XI at Sydney's Allianz Stadium.

There were huge cheers in the stadium for Australia international Ellie Carpenter as she represented Chelsea in her home country for the first time.

When the match got underway, it was played at a fast pace, with the Blues dominating the ball but the home side looking dangerous on the break.

On one of those occasions, Katie McCabe was called upon to do some emergency defending inside the box, and even though she found herself outnumbered two to one, she kept a cool head and shepherded the ball out of danger.

Deadlock broken

McCabe played several neat passes into Alyssa Thompson on the left flank, and that worked a treat when the USA international played a square ball into Baltimore on the edge of the box. Playing in an advanced role once more, our No.11 floated a perfectly angled shot into the top right-hand corner to put us ahead.

That lead was doubled when Nusken fired a speculative effort toward goal from 12 yards, and the ball sneaked under the goalkeeper's outstretched arm and over the line.

The All-Stars continued to look dangerous on the counter, and Leticia McKenna blazed over the bar with her attempt after a fast break had seen her in space on the edge of the penalty area. Thompson and Lauren James both went close as they both displayed neat footwork when running at the All-Stars' defence.

All-Stars hold firm

After the initial goal flurry, the All-Stars side recovered their composure and their defence restricted us for much of the second period, in which Bompastor made four changes in addition to the three made at half-time.

Although our passing was crisp and our skills were on show, we were unable to pose any serious threat on goal as the match moved into the final stages.

Potter's big moment

That was until summer signing Giulia Dragoni played a short, square ball on the edge of the box to an unmarked Potter, and the Chelsea Academy graduate did not hesitate to unleash a thundering shot into the top right-hand corner for our third goal of the evening.

After scoring in Auckland, Mayra Ramirez went close with less than ten minutes to play, but the match concluded with the 3-0 win to make it 10 goals without reply across our two friendlies on the other side of the world.

What comes next...

Chelsea's season begins with a home fixture against Real Sociedad in the UEFA Women's Champions League third qualifying round on 27 August. This is the first of a two-legged tie with a place in the League Phase of the competition at stake.
