In-form defender Andreas Christensen reveals some of what has made him the player he is in the matchday programme for today's game at Stamford Bridge and there are also words of welcome for Carlo Ancelotti.

The front cover captures the celebrations after Ross Barkley's goal against Liverpool on Tuesday night and as we prepare to face further Merseyside opposition today, Frank Lampard writes of his admiration for the Toffees manager:'I want to give a big welcome back to Carlo Ancelotti, a manager I have so much respect for,’ he states on his programme page. ‘I loved working for him and I’m sure he’ll get a good reception from the fans after what he achieved in his time at Stamford Bridge.'

On the captain’s page, Cesar Azpilicueta explains why Billy Gilmour deserves all the plaudits he got on Tuesday night. 'It doesn’t surprise me because I see him in training every day,’ writes the skipper, 'and his attitude and work ethic have been spot on ever since he came over to join the squad. He deserved his man of the match award and he has a great future ahead of him.'As you turn the programme pages, Christensen talks about his upbringing in a football family and subsequent move to Chelsea in the latest In His Own Words. There are some interesting stories in there, including one about the late Dermot Drummy, who had a rather unique way of getting Andreas to communicate more on the pitch during his Academy days. The Journey Home looks back at Lampard's best goalscoring season, in 2009/10, and the role the returning Ancelotti played in that. Included is the moment Lampard went public with his intention to become a manager.Elsewhere, Pat Nevin analyses the psychology of footballers in Secrets of the Dressing Room; there is a photographic look at Olivier Giroud's best goals as a Blue; and 1971 Cup Winners' Cup winner Johnny Boyle waxes lyrical about facing the Italian great Gianni Rivera.

This season’s matchday programme remains at £3.50 and is available in and around Stamford Bridge, the Megastore and online. Cashless payment is now available from certain sellers.
