Aguero's praise for Terry and Lampard
Sergio Aguero has given honourable mentions to two Chelsea legends in a Q&A on Twitter.
The Argentine recently announced his retirement from football at 33-years-old and has been answering questions from fans on his personal Twitter account.
‘When asked who was the best Premier League centre back he played, Aguero simply replied 'Terry' with a grimacing face emoji,’ reports the Daily Mail.
‘In 2019, Aguero said Lampard was one of the best goalscorers in the world, despite playing predominantly as a midfielder,’ the report adds.
‘Aguero was also asked who he thought was the best out of Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes – an ongoing debate among England fans – but the decision was simple for the Argentine, given he has previously revealed his admiration for Lampard.
‘While they only played one season together at City, Aguero and Lampard grew fond of each other and have both named each other as the best in their respective fields previously.’
Guardiola offers Blues his congratulations
Man City manager Pep Guardiola has publicly congratulated Chelsea on becoming Champions of the World.
The Spaniard was reflecting on his history with Man City in the Champions League after his side won 5-0 away to Sporting Lisbon in the first leg of their knockout tie.
‘We made a perfect Champions League but in the final we didn't perform as we normally do [against Chelsea],' Guardiola said as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
‘That's why, against a top side, a world champion - I congratulate them publicly for the first time to be Club World Cup champions - and the margin of the Champions League is in this detail.’
Hudson-Odoi to decide between England and Ghana
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is reportedly undecided on his international future – with the forward eligible to play for both England and Ghana.
A report by the Mirror highlights his current predicament on the international stage, especially so given his sensational form for Chelsea this season.
‘Callum Hudson-Odoi is weighing up whether or not to change his international allegiance to Ghana,' the report states.
‘The Chelsea star has been capped three times for England and made his debut for the Three Lions as a teenager in 2019,’ the report states.
‘But due to his heritage and current FIFA rules, Hudson-Odoi would still be allowed to switch teams, having not yet breached the threshold of four international caps before the age of 21 that denies a change.
‘The winger, born in Wandsworth, last played for England two-and-a-half years ago but has now issued an update on his future.’
When quizzed on what his decision will be, Callum remained undecided.
‘I don't know,’ the 21-year-old replied, as quoted by the Evening Standard. ‘At the end of the day, we will wait until that time comes.’
