Sancho set for Premier League return?

According to reports in the Sun, Jadon Sancho is apparently keen on a return to England at some stage with the 20-year-old winger having previously stated publicly that he supported Chelsea while growing up.

Sancho confirmed his soft spot for the Blues in an interview with the Telegraph last summer, although the England international opted for a more neutral answer when asked who his inspirations were as reported by World Soccer Magazine.

‘I used to look at Ronaldinho on YouTube,’ he said

‘He used to try things that no-one else would try and that made me like him a lot. I didn’t have a team that I supported though, I just idolised a lot of great players.’

The winger has been constantly linked with a move away from Dortmund by some sections of the media and being born and raised in south London, it is reported that the Premier League could be his next destination.

Journalist Gabriele Marcotti also revealed on BTP Media Network where Sancho would like to go next, a place which could excite Blues fans.

‘I’ve been told Sancho would prefer a move back home, in other words to London where he grew up,’ Marcotti said.

‘But equally, I’m sure he prefers a move for wherever gives him the best package and long-term prospects.’

Rio hails Thiago Silva as inspirational

Speaking on his YouTube show FIVE, former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has branded Thiago Silva as ‘pivotal figure’ to Frank Lampard’s side.

The Blues increased their unbeaten run of nine games in the Premier League after our 3-1 win against Leeds United and Ferdinand was quick to give Thiago Silva his praise.

‘Chelsea are on absolute fire, they are flying. Frank Lampard has got his team confident, they go down a goal, it’s no problem,’ he said.

‘And who is at the base of that? The foundation of that, for me, would have to be the man Thiago Silva.

‘He’s come in, the experience he’s got, playing in big games all around the world.’

The BT Sport pundit believes whenever things aren’t looking good, the Brazilian is a player his team-mates can look to for inspiration. He also thinks we haven’t seen the best out of this Chelsea side yet.

‘We haven’t seen the best of Werner, we haven’t even seen the best of Havertz yet or Ziyech. Pulisic has just come back, he looked amazing when he came on.

‘Listen, Chelsea are in it for the long run, they’re going to be there at the end.’

Chelsea linked with Polish centre-back

Chelsea, alongside Manchester United and Liverpool, are keeping tabs on Polish centre-back Sebastian Walukiewicz according to reports.

Although the 20-year-old signed a new deal last week that ties him to Serie A side Cagliari until 2024, some top European clubs are still interested in his services with the Blues apparently one of the sides linked.

Reports in The Sun stated: 'Chelsea see Walukiewicz as a potential long-term replacement for Thiago Silva who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent this summer.

'Just like other young centre-back options, a deal could be struck and the Polish international could go back to Serie A on loan to further his development.'

Walukiewicz has played every minute of Cagliari’s Serie A campaign and was recently rewarded with a national team call-up.
