Chelsea eyeing Kessie

Chelsea are reportedly interested in bringing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

According to Il Milanista, Kessie’s contract runs out in 18 months and the Blues are keeping an eye on his situation.

The midfielder has been an important piece of Milan’s success so far this season. He has also proved to be a reliable member of the squad, only missing one out of 26 Serie A games this season.

The report also states that Kessie is a player Thomas Tuchel ‘dreams of bringing to Stamford Bridge’ because of his qualities as a midfielder.

However, the Blues will have to fight off interest from several top clubs like Real Madrid and Tottenham to sign the star.

The Ivorian is often deployed in a double six role under Milan manager Stefano Pioli, a similar position to the one N’Golo Kante has been praised for in his performances by Tuchel.

Tomori enjoying loan

Fikayo Tomori has opened up on the loan experience he is getting at AC Milan.

Speaking in a press conference, the Chelsea loanee revealed how he is finding life in Italy.

‘Everyone here at Milanello (Milan’s training ground) has helped me a lot both with the language and off the pitch,’ Tomori said. ‘I’m trying to learn Italian even if it is a bit difficult.

‘This has given me great strength to integrate into a new group and to play great football. I’m happy to have the opportunity to give my best for this team.’

The centre-back returns to England for the first time since his loan began to face Manchester United in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Tomori also revealed he still keeps in regular contact with his friends at Chelsea. He has been impressed with the Blues’ recent performances.

‘I often talk to my old team-mates because they were not only great team-mates but also friends,’ he continued. ‘We don’t always talk about football but also other things.

‘They are very happy and are satisfied. They are scoring and winning so they are fine.’

Terry reveals managerial inspiration

Former Blues captain John Terry has revealed Pep Guardiola is a manager he looks up to.

On Instagram, the Aston Villa assistant coach shared a picture of him reading Pep Guardiola’s coaching guides while preparing for his side’s fixture against Newcastle.

Terry referred to the Manchester City boss as the ‘main man’ and said he was ‘learning and studying’ from Guardiola.

The Chelsea legend has been working under Villa boss Dean Smith since 2018 after retiring in the same year.

Terry has been linked to several managerial jobs in recent months including posts that opened up at Derby County and Bournemouth.

Villa currently sit ninth in the table and are pushing for Europe.

The former Chelsea captain has received praise for his role in their defensive stability, reportedly being heavily involved in tightening things at the back.
