Blues eyeing Odegaard
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard, who is is currently on loan at Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mail, the north London club are concerned about the prospect of a bidding war with Liverpool and the Blues over the 22-year-old.
Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to sell the Norwegian, as he continues to impress on loan with the Gunners.
Odegaard has become a key player for the Gunners since arriving in January, appearing 12 times for the club.
He made a real statement on the Arsenal faithful by scoring in the north London derby against Tottenham and in their Europa League last 16 win over Olympiacos.
Manchester United winger admits to supporting Chelsea
Daniel James has revealed he used to support the Blues when he was growing up.
Speaking on the official Manchester United podcast, the winger cleared up the rumours that originally stated he supported Liverpool.
‘When I signed for United, I can’t remember who it was, one of the Sky Sports pundits said: “he supports Liverpool”,’ James said. ‘I was thinking “I don’t support Liverpool” but I never wanted to come out and say I supported Chelsea as a youngster.
‘When I started playing at Swansea, it was Chelsea who were the team I followed.’
The Welsh international, who made his United debut against Chelsea in the Premier League, also spoke about which Blues players he enjoyed watching.
‘I used to look at their players when I was younger,’ he continued. ‘Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Didier Drogba were all players that I loved.’
Broja on why he chose Albania over England
Chelsea loanee Armando Broja has revealed why he picked Albania over England.
The Blues striker, who is currently on loan at Vitesse started against England in their recent World Cup qualifier and explained to Goal.com why he chose to represent the country of his parents over the Three Lions.
‘It’s a big decision, of course, when you choose your country to play for,’ he said. ‘I went for Albania because I have Albanian blood in me, I am Albanian, my parents are from Albania, so it was an easy decision.
‘I would love to make the people there proud and make my parents proud.’
Broja was capped at youth level for Albania, for the Under-19s and the Under-21s. He scored eight goals in eight games for their youth side now he is looking to make an impact with the senior side.
‘I want to lift Albania up as a country to get us to the World Cup or the Euros,’ he added. ‘That’s the biggest thing for them.
‘If we go to the World Cup, it would be crazy and we would make history.’
