Chelsea join bidding for striker

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea could be set for a battle with three other Premier League clubs to sign young centre forward Fedor Chalov from CSKA Moscow.

Crystal Palace had a bid for Chalov rejected last summer but while his scoring output for the Russian club has dipped this season, his agent believes there is still plenty of interest in the 21-year-old with Chelsea, Brighton and West Ham reportedly making enquiries over the past few months.

‘Fedor is one of the most striking players in Europe, and the increased interest in him is completely justified. Especially from the side of one Premier League club, which made a significant offer, but CSKA refused to sell the player,’ his agent Christian Emile said.

‘The position of CSKA is completely understandable - they have serious goals, and Fedor is the most important player for them.

‘We will follow the development of events and are sure that in any case, he has a great future.’

Mancini hopes Emerson returns to Italy

According to Goal.com, Italy head coach Roberto Mancini has expressed hope that Emerson will return to Serie A next season as he prepares his side for the European Championship next year.

The full-back has seen limited action at Chelsea this season and Mancini feels he would benefit from the opportunity of playing more football back in Italy.

With strong competition for a spot on Italy’s back-line, Mancini wants to see more of the 25-year-old, who joined the Blues from Roma in 2018.

‘As for the full-backs, we knew Adam Masina, although he disappeared from the radar a bit after his move to Watford,’ said Mancini in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport on his defensive options.

‘Luca Pellegrini already spent time with the senior squad and can improve.

‘It would be nice if Emerson Palmieri, who hasn’t played much for Chelsea, could come and play in Italy.’

Emerson was a regular starter for the Blues earlier this season but has made just one substitute appearance since late January.

Terry joins Stay At Home Challenge

John Terry has upped the ante in the Stay At Home Challenge with a hilarious Instagram post which features a cheeky nod to his celebration of our Champions League triumph in 2012.

The former Chelsea captain didn’t try to emulate the fantastic skills displayed by the likes of Lionel Messi, Joao Felix and Tammy Abraham in controlling a toilet roll in their video submissions.

Instead his short video showed his living room with a replica Champions League trophy sitting on the floor and Terry, who is currently an assistant coach at Aston Villa, kicking a toilet roll into it with the Champions League theme playing majestically in the background.

And in a nod to fans of rival clubs who mocked him for donning his full kit for the 2012 Champions League final presentation despite not playing in the match, Terry added in his post: ‘I was going to put my kit on but I couldn’t find my shin pads ⚽️😜’
