Chelsea eyeing Digne

According to 90min.com, Chelsea are considering a summer move for Everton left-back Lucas Digne.

The French international defender joined Everton from Barcelona in 2018 and was the club’s Player of the Season in his first Premier League campaign. He has continued his good form for the Toffees this season, starting in all but one of their 26 league matches and providing a goal and six assists.

‘Digne's continued good form has seen him attract attention,’ states the report. ‘A source has told 90min that Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City have been checking in on the defender and Everton's resolve could be tested this summer.

‘While both the west London side and the Citizens are reportedly keen on Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell, they are also looking elsewhere at secondary targets. As a result of his fine form, both clubs' scouting teams have identified Digne as another option.

‘Any deal won't come cheap, however. The Toffees paid around £18m for his services, but they would demand more than double that figure for the 26-year-old.’

Vecino linked with Blues

The Daily Express reports Chelsea are also eying Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino, who may be allowed to leave the Serie A club this summer.

The Uruguayan was signed by Inter from Fiorentina in 2017 but could be surplus to requirements as Antonio Conte looks to shape his squad for next season.

‘Chelsea will pay the £23million Inter Milan want for Matias Vecino this summer,’ states the Express.

‘Inter’s ex-Blues boss Antonio Conte will offload the Uruguay midfelder, 28, to fund his own transfer plans.’

Pasalic to remain at Atalanta?

Mario Pasalic’s spell as a Chelsea player could be coming to an end with Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting the Croatian will join Serie A side Atalanta on a permanent move this summer.

In a tweet, Romano stated: ‘Atalanta are going to buy the Croatian midfielder Mario Pašalic from Chelsea for €15M next summer.’

Pasalic joined Chelsea from Hajduk Split in 2014 but the 25-year-old has not played a competitive match for the Blues, going out on loan to a number of clubs including Monaco, AC Milan and Spartak Moscow.

He is currently in his second season on loan at Atalanta, where he has played 70 games and scored 14 goals including the winner in a 2-1 victory over Roma last weekend.
