Chelsea keen on Calhanoglu
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Hakan Calhanoglu.
According to Sky Italia, the Blues will be looking to take advantage of the midfielder’s contract stalemate with AC Milan.
The report states that Calhanoglu’s contract expires in the summer and a few clubs in Europe are interested in him when he becomes a free agent.
The Turkish international has played 34 times in all competitions this season, he has seven goals and 11 assists to his name.
It is believed that Milan have no intentions of improving their bid for the player which could give Chelsea an advantage.
If the Blues want to bring Calhanoglu to Stamford Bridge in the summer they will have to see off clubs like Juventus and Arsenal, two who are also interested in the midfielder.
Batshuayi scores important equaliser
Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi has responded perfectly to Roy Hodgson’s call for him to show the goal-scoring ability he puts on for Belgium at Crystal Palace.
The striker came on as a substitute and scored an important equaliser against Everton which will have huge implications on the tight top-four race.
‘Playing 60 minutes against Belarus and scoring one of eight goals is not the same as if he comes on against Everton and helps them to a 3-0 win by scoring a couple,’ the Palace boss said in his pre-match press conference.
‘I would put that in a different league of achievements.’
Palace’s late equaliser will also play a huge role in helping the Blues’ top four chances, with Everton and Tottenham dropping points.
‘I feel good,’ Batshuayi said after last night. ‘I played some minutes with the national team and today I played again and scored for the team.
‘It is good for me, and a good point for the team.’
