Blues linked with Lewandowski

Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

According to BILD, the Blues are looking at strikers to potentially bring to Stamford Bridge for next season.

Lewandowski, who just got knocked out of the Euro 2020 group stages with Poland, has continued to be a prolific goalscorer in the Bundesliga, which has made him an attractive option.

As reported earlier, Erling Haaland remains the top target, however, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and the Polish international are seen as alternatives.

Lewandowski scored 48 goals in 40 games in the 2020/21 season. The 32-year-old also recently netted his first goals in a major tournament for Poland, scoring three times in three games at the Euros.

The report further states that the Polish international’s contract expires in 2023 and the Blues will need to make their move to convince the Bundesliga champions to let their star man go.

Terry completes coaching badges

Former Blues captain John Terry has completed his UEFA Pro Licence.

Posting on Instagram, the Aston Villa assistant coach took the time to thank those at the FA for the help they provided throughout his course.

‘I’m delighted to have completed my UEFA Pro Licence with the FA,’ Terry said. ‘I have loved and enjoyed the journey where I have met and learnt from some great people on the course.

‘A huge thank you to all the FA staff who have been superb in supporting us all the way through.’

The title-winning former centre-back was one of 24 coaches to complete the FA Level 5 UEFA Pro Licence qualification in the class of 2021.

Another Blue who completed his badges in the same class as Terry was our Under-18s head coach Ed Brand.

Insigne backs Jorginho for Ballon d’Or

Italian attacker Lorenzo Insigne has backed Chelsea midfielder Jorginho to be on the Ballon d’Or shortlist this year.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Napoli star praised his Azzurri team-mate for his fantastic season.

‘We have quality players and you talked about Jorginho, and you are correct,’ the forward said. ‘He has spent some fantastic years at Chelsea and I’m proud to have him in our team.’

Jorginho has put on a phenomenal passing display so far at the Euros. He has completed 190 of his 203 passes so far in the competition.

After winning the Champions League at the end of May, the 29-year-old’s former Napoli team-mate believes he should be in the conversation for the Ballon d’Or.

‘I’m not the one who decides if he deserves the Ballon d’Or,’ he added. ‘But I hope he’ll be shortlisted. He deserves it and is a great player.

‘I call him the professor and we are all happy to play with him.’
