Blues interested in Lukaku

Chelsea are reportedly interested in re-signing Romelu Lukaku.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues could make a bid to sign the Inter Milan striker after another impressive season in Serie A.

Under former Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte, Inter are closing in on their first league title in over a decade and the Belgian striker has played a major role in this season.

So far this season, the 27-year-old has scored 21 goals in 32 games in Serie A, including four goals in five games in the Champions League.

Chelsea signed Lukaku in 2011 as an 18-year-old, however, the attacker struggled for first-team minutes and went on loan to West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

After signing for Everton in 2014 and gaining a few years of experience, he started to show signs of the quality he can provide. He scored 87 goals in 166 games at Goodison Park and moved to Manchester United.

Real Madrid star impressed by Kante

Raphael Varane was left impressed by N’Golo Kante performance against his Real Madrid side in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Speaking to the media, the centre-back explained why his fellow countryman is so special after the two sides battled it out for a 1-1 draw.

‘N’Golo?’ he said. ‘He was a nuisance, that’s clear.

‘At this stage of the season, physicality is a determining factor, and it is true that he runs a lot.’

Kante was named man of the match after his busy display where he contested for the most duels (21) and completed the most take-ons (six) than anyone else on the pitch.

‘He caused us a lot of problems,’ Varane admitted. ‘He managed to break the lines and he also has the ability to recover balls.

‘We know the quality of this team and he is one of their strengths.’

Cole backs Pulisic to have a huge future

Former Blues attacking midfielder Joe Cole believes Christian Pulisic has a huge future at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on BT Sport, the Englishman raved about the 22-year-old’s talent and why he is such an important player for the Blues.

‘I love Pulisic,’ he said. ‘At the end of last year, he was Chelsea’s best player by a mile. He was driving with the ball.

‘He looked like Eden Hazard. He had the 10 on his back. He can go both ways and score goals.’

After returning to Thomas Tuchel’s starting line-up the American has shown he can be a player to count on in big moments, regardless of his past injury issues.

‘He is a young man in a new country,’ Cole added. ‘I think he’s going to be a massive player for Chelsea.

‘He is well-liked and respected in the dressing room.’
