Blues eyeing Saul loan

According to the subscription-based Telegraph, Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Saul Niguez on loan for the season.

The report states that the Blues are looking to further strengthen our midfield options and the Spaniard is reportedly viewed as a player that can add that quality to the ranks.

‘Chelsea are not seeking a new midfielder as a matter of priority,’ the report explains. ‘But they are open to taking up a late opportunity and that may arrive in the form of Saul, who is available on loan.’

The midfielder has fallen out of favour at Atletico Madrid and is looking for a move away from the Spanish champions.

If the Blues do want to sign Saul this summer then they will have to likely compete with Manchester United and Liverpool, two clubs who are also said to be eyeing the 26-year-old.

Neville tips Havertz to shine

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes Kai Havertz will be the young talent that will shine in the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Speaking on Monday Night Football, the Sky Sports pundit praised the German after his performances towards the end of last season and added that he’ll keep growing his game.

‘I think Havertz has gone up a level, but he is in third gear,’ Neville said. ‘He could go to fourth gear and fifth gear.

‘He could become a great player.’

The 22-year-old picked up nine goals and nine assists in all competitions last season, including our Champions League winner against Manchester City.

‘When he fills out, and he will do, he is already a great runner with the ball,’ Neville added. ‘He will get more confidence, more belief and in a couple of years he could be someone who is there.’

Caballero praises Tuchel

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero has praised Thomas Tuchel’s impact after our Champions League triumph last season.

Speaking to, the Argentine also hailed the German’s man-management skills in the last six months of the season.

‘I think a lot of the guys didn’t expect the season to end in such a big success,’ he said. ‘At the start of the journey, we weren’t so strong.

‘Tuchel was always optimistic, positive and his explanations to every player was perfect.’

The 39-year-old also praised the German’s backroom staff who helped the manager keep a good atmosphere in the changing room.

‘He also has a very good group of staff,’ he added. ‘His staff work very well, and they are close with the players and talking with them.

‘The players were happy going to training and this can be difficult in a big club.’
