Competing for Chilwell
According to speculation in the Daily Mail, Chelsea ‘are plotting a summer move’ for Leicester City’s left-back Ben Chilwell.‘A potential £25million move to Juventus would mean Emerson [Palmieri] is reunited with former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, who remains a fan of the Brazil-born Italy international,’ adds the newspaper report. The Mail claims the Blues may have to compete with Manchester City for Chilwell's services.‘A fee of around £50million is expected to be demanded by the Foxes to part with the academy graduate, who has made 118 appearances for the club since his debut in 2015,’ it states.

Another player previously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, Edinson Cavani, is back in the papers today with the Metro carrying quotes from the Uruguayan’s mother on her son’s likely next step in his career. The report revisits talk that Chelsea, as well as Atletico Madrid, were in the running for Cavani in January and prints words from Frank Lampard back then on his admiration for the 33-year-old’s playing style and goals record.
‘There are many clubs interested in the transfer of Chelsea target Edinson Cavani, the Paris Saint Germain star’s mother has confirmed,’ reports the Metro.‘He is available on a free transfer in the summer, however, and will leave the Parc des Princes. Frank Lampard is a known admirer of the 33-year-old former Napoli forward but Cavani’s mother, Berta Gomez, suggested his preference is a move to Spain, which could see a move to Atletico back on the cards.’‘We have to think carefully. At the moment, he has no intention of returning to Uruguay, he is planning to continue in Europe and would like to go to Spain,’ are the quotes from Cavani’s mother.
