Chelsea tracking Italian teenager
According to the Sun, a report in Italy suggests Chelsea have taken an interest in young Italian star Nicolo Rovella and will vie with Inter Milan this summer to sign the teenager from Genoa.
The 18-year-old midfielder only made his Serie A debut for Genoa in December but having impressed for Italy’s Under-19 national side, he is tipped for a bright future.
‘Rovella has only played 28 minutes in the Italian top-flight along with a single outing in the Coppa Italia,’ states the report.
‘That has not deterred Chelsea and Inter from tracking the midfielder, according to Calcio Mercato.
‘The Nerazzurri were reportedly the first team noticing Rovella's rise which so far includes a number of caps for Italy's national youth teams.
‘Genoa are also said to be trying to convince him that they are the best option for his development and a first professional contract offer is on the table.
‘With Rovella yet to make a serious impact on Serie A, Chelsea are reportedly preparing to send a scout to Liguria in the hope of watching him in action.’
Foxes could rival Blues for Telles signing
The Leicester Mercury reports Leicester City are likely to launch a summer bid for Porto’s Alex Telles, who has been heavily linked in the media with a move to Chelsea.
Following reports earlier this week which indicated the Brazilian had rejected a contract extension with his current club, there was speculation of a potential move to Chelsea for the left-back.
However, Leicester have also been linked previously with the 27-year-old and could follow up their interest this summer.
‘City were credited with an interest in Telles during the previous summer transfer window, when it was claimed they dispatched scouts to Portugal to watch him in action,’ states the Mercury.
‘Nothing materialised at that time and although a move to Atletico Madrid then looked to be on the cards for the 27-year-old, he stayed with Porto.
‘Now Brendan Rodgers’ side are being linked again as we reach the business end of the Premier League season.’
Pulisic ‘super close’ to injury return
Christian Pulisic has generated some buzz on social media after he suggested in an Instagram response that he will soon be back in action for Chelsea, the Sun reports.
The American has been sidelined with a groin problem since our 1-1 draw at Brighton on New Year’s Day, but in his reply to a fan’s message of support on Instagram, he hinted he wasn’t too far off from a return to the pitch.
‘Very thankful for your support,’ wrote the 21-year-old, who has scored six goals for the Blues this season.
‘Working so hard and super close to a return.’
