Gosens watched by Chelsea scouts

According to the Daily Mail, reports in Italy indicate Chelsea are monitoring Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens with scouts from the club watching him in action in a 5-0 win over Parma in Serie A on Monday.

Citing a report by Tutto Mercato Web, the Mail suggests our scouts like what they saw of the defender, who was born in Germany to a Dutch father and is eligible to represent both countries.

‘The 25-year-old impressed as he scored one and provided the assist for another in Atalanta's comfortable victory,’ states the report.

‘Gosens has starred in Atalanta's strong season so far in which they have reached the last 16 of the Champions League.

‘He has netted six goals and supplied four assists in 20 appearances for the Serie A side this campaign.’

Gosens, who began his professional career at Dutch side Vitesse, joined Atalanta from Heracles Almelo in 2017.

Drinkwater looking forward to Villa challenge

Danny Drinkwater has told Aston Villa’s official website he is excited to be playing for the Birmingham club after joining them on loan from Chelsea for the second half of the Premier League season.

After appearing in only one Premier League match on loan at Burnley in the first half of the season, the 29-year-old is eager to get back into action for a team which is currently just a point above the relegation zone.

‘I’m massively excited, especially with it being a club as big as Villa. It’s a pleasure to be here and hopefully I can hit the ground running,’ said the midfielder.

‘Obviously, I want the club to stay in the Premier League, and personally I’m hoping for some game-time, which unfortunately didn’t happen at my last club.

‘The squad is full of talent. I can’t wait to get started properly and hopefully we can finish the season strongly.’

Fabregas on his favourite Premier League goal

According to the Independent, Cesc Fabregas had a clever response when he was asked about his favourite Premier League goal in a question-and-answer session with supporters on Twitter.

The Spaniard, who made his name at Arsenal before winning a pair of Premier League titles at Chelsea, was put on the spot by a fan who asked: ‘Of the 50 PL goals you scored, which was your favourite?’

The 32-year-old came up with a cheeky reply which would have pleased supporters of both clubs.

‘Every goal against Spurs will do,’ said the midfielder, who is currently at Ligue 1 side Monaco.

While Fabregas scored 22 goals during his four-and-a-half seasons at Stamford Bridge, both of his goals against Tottenham were in matches for the Gunners in 2007 and 2009.
