Mourinho seeks out Cole

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho visited the studio of live TV broadcasters Sky Sports before yesterday’s game but according to the Express, he did not achieve what he was hoping for ahead of his current team’s game against his former club.Frank Lampard made a change to his formation for what turned out to be a 2-0 win for Chelsea and with one of the Sky pundits at the game being Ashley Cole, who played for Lampard at Derby last season and is now a coach in the Chelsea Academy, Mourinho may have been trying to gather a tactical tip-off according to the newspaper’s story.‘Sky showed footage of an interview with Mourinho, where he was talking to presenter David Jones and former Liverpool hero Graeme Souness earlier this week,’ reports the Express. ‘When they cut back to the studio, Jones revealed Mourinho had come to see them while the interview was being aired.‘Mourinho worked for Sky for the opening months of this season as a pundit before taking the Tottenham job in November. But as Jones says, it was not him, Souness or Manchester United legend Gary Neville who the Portuguese wanted to talk to.It quotes Jones as saying: ‘He [Mourinho] wanted particularly to have a chat with Ashley Cole about Chelsea today.’‘He wanted to know the team but I couldn’t tell him,’ Cole adds.

Double delight

Two more of our former players, and team-mates of Cole during his Chelsea years, were clearly watching the win at Spurs as well, if their social media posts are anything to go by.Replying to a tweet from Chelsea’s official Twitter account announcing one of Willian’s goals, Eden Hazard expressed his joy at how the game was panning out with a simple three smiling emojis with heart-shaped eyes, while John Terry’s reaction to the final result was on Instagram.

The Daily Mail reports: ‘Former Blues captain Terry was a central figure in countless fiery games between the sides, and couldn't resist sticking the boot in post-match.‘Responding to a post on Chelsea's Instagram, Terry replied: “Three point lane, some things never change.”’

Premier League clubs Norwich and Southampton are interested in taking Marc Guehi on loan according to the Sun.The 19-year-old defender, who is captain of our development squad side, has played two games for the men’s first team this season but the next stage of his development could be away from Stamford Bridge according to news article.

It claims: ‘Norwich and Southampton want Chelsea’s highly-rated young defender Marc Guehi to help save them from relegation this season. The two Premier League clubs have contacted the Blues about taking the England Under-21 star on loan until the end of the season.‘But they face competition from Championship clubs Bristol City, Swansea and Nottingham Forest who both believe the 19-year-old can make a major difference to their fights to gain promotion to the top flight.‘Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl admitted this week he urgently needs new defenders in to help shore up a defence that is shipping too many goals,’ it adds.‘And Norwich have also declared an interest, believing the England under-17 World Cup winner will fit in seamlessly with their style of play in the second half of the campaign.’
