Didier has still got it!

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba showed that he has still got it as the Ivorian scored an impressive hat-trick in a charity match.

The Blues hero also did his iconic knee slide to celebrate his three goals, as Marseille legends beat Arsene Wenger’s UNICEF side 7-4.

During his long time at the club, Drogba was well known for his goalscoring form against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, in which he netted 15 goals in 16 games against the Gunners.

‘Despite announcing his retirement three years ago, Drogba was found in red-hot form in front of goal and took each of his three strikes in truly ruthless fashion,’ a match report in the Daily Mail states.

‘Wenger's side moved into a 2-1 lead at the Stade Velodrome in his first game on the touchline since 2018, before Drogba stole the show with his trio of goals.

‘Drogba found the net twice and then even dusted off his infamous celebration for his third goal, much to the delight of the supporters inside the ground.

‘During his time at Chelsea, the now 43-year-old scored 164 times for the club in 381 games and took home the match ball in his recent outing this week.’

Demba Ba opens up on Chelsea career

Another former Blues forward, Demba Ba, has spoken openly about his Chelsea career, his infamous Anfield goal and life under Rafa Benitez in an interview with The Athletic.

Ba admitted he didn’t enjoy his memorable strike which dented Liverpool’s title hopes in 2014, after Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea won 2-0, ending the Reds' 16-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

'I only realised how big a deal that was a couple of years later, when people still talked about it. They still talk about it! It was traumatic for them,' Ba told The Athletic.

'But we didn’t enjoy the fact that we killed their dream, we simply enjoyed winning.

'You make errors and others take advantage. What Steven Gerrard has done for the world of football is tremendous. But this is life, unfortunately. Not all stories can end in fairytales,' the former Senegalese international said.

The 36-year-old also spoke of his time at the club under Benitez, who now manages Everton.

'He managed to get us into the Champions League, we finished third, he won the Europa League, and we went to two semi-finals in the domestic cups so he must have been good,' Ba claimed.

Ba also credits strong personalities in the dressing room for stable performance during this tumultuous time.

'Big players will take responsibility on the pitch but also off it when things don’t go the right way,' he added.

'I remember when we lost 2-1 to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final and Rafa was criticising our lack of intensity after the game. But John Terry went: "No gaffer, the problem is that our training lacks intensity."

'Rafa’s training was mostly tactical but the players wanted it to be more full-blooded. So the two of them had a frank exchange of views in front of everyone, and the next day, the whole team got together to talk things through as well. We didn’t lose any more games after that.'

Inter’s Brozovic could be snapped up for free next summer

Inter Milan defensive midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has ‘caught the attention’ of Chelsea as the Croatian enters the final year of his contract.

In a story by Sport Witness, citing Tuttosport, the Blues are reportedly monitoring the situation as the midfielder is ‘happy with life in Milan.’

‘It was also explained the player’s father, Ivan, who is also his agent, is set to meet the Italian club this week to discuss a new contract,’ the report states.

‘Thomas Tuchel’s side continue to monitor the situation and should they find out talks between Brozovic's camp and Inter aren’t progressing well, they are ready to sniff out the deal.

‘In order to convince the San Siro star, the west London club are ready to offer him a "hefty" package.

‘With Chelsea in the background, the Nerazzurri must be cautious when negotiating with the midfielder’s entourage.’
