Ampadu keen to prove himself to manager

Goal.com reports Ethan Ampadu is keen to make an impression on Frank Lampard and remain with the Blues for the upcoming season instead of going out on loan again.

While there is reportedly much interest in the teenager from clubs eager to take him on loan, it appears that a decision on his future is on hold for the moment.

‘Ethan Ampadu is keen to try and impress Frank Lampard in training sessions, putting any moves on hold,’ states the report.

‘Lampard is understood to be a huge fan of the 19-year-old who was on loan at RB Leipzig last season, but arrived at Stamford Bridge with the youngster having already agreed to a Bundesliga move.

‘Chelsea have yet to push Ampadu to look for a loan out of west London for another season, leaving the door open for his stay, but the situation is subject to change with a host of major transfer targets being pursued in the market.’

Lyon interested in signing Bakayoko

According to OneFootball.com, a report from France indicates Ligue 1 side Lyon are interested in a deal for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The 26-year-old has recently been heavily linked with a return to AC Milan, where he spent the 2018/19 campaign on loan.

However, the Italian club have yet to agree a deal with the Blues, opening the door for the Champions League semi-finalists to make a bid.

‘According to what is being reported by Telefoot journalist Saber Desfarges, Milan are active for Bakayoko and technical director Paolo Maldini is leading the charge, but Lyon have joined in,’ states the OneFootball report.

‘The French side have established contacts with Chelsea and the player’s entourage, he adds, while the player is currently in London and is due to resume training on August 23.’

Dunk deal rumour denied

TalkSport reports Chelsea have not made an offer to Brighton for centre-back Lewis Dunk with the south coast club reluctant to sell their captain.

Earlier reports suggested the Blues had beaten Tottenham Hotspur to a deal for the experienced 28-year-old defender.

However, TalkSport’s south coast correspondent said the Seagulls had no knowledge of any offers for Dunk.

‘I’ve spoken to people very close to the player and spoken to my sources at Brighton,’ said Alex Crook.

‘They haven’t received a bid from Chelsea, and they wouldn’t welcome one.

‘Lewis Dunk is happy on the south coast and I’m told he’s 95 per cent certain to stay a Seagulls player.’
