Mount on Grealish false rivalry

PSG director on letting Thiago Silva go

Speaking via the club’s channels and reported by Get Football News France, Leonardo discussed the decisions.

Thiago Silva has continued to show his quality since arriving at Chelsea in the summer, playing an integral role in a centre-back pairing with Kurt Zouma. They have featured together at the heart of the defence frequently. Chelsea have conceded only one goal in the last five games in all competitions.

Frank Lampard capitalised by bringing Thiago Silva to Stamford Bridge, as his influence is not only what he can offer on the pitch. With all his achievements, Thiago Silva can also help improve the winning mentality in the dressing room.

‘At one moment, we have to say ‘’what are we going to do’’,’ Leonardo said.

‘It was a moment where we could not give them exactly what they wanted. It was a financial and generational problem.

‘The decisions were difficult to take. Aside from that, we could have made a mistake.’

Dest impressed by Pulisic

With Pulisic recovering from a hamstring injury, he travelled to be with his national side in Wales. It is not entirely clear whether he'll take part as head coach Gregg Berhalter stated they are managing his progress daily.

Dest spoke to ESPN and repeated by goal.com, about the current international break with the US and all the talent around Europe with Pulisic and Dortmund's Gio Reyna as key players.

'He is a really good player, they are both really good players. I hope they can keep working and we can reach something nice in the coming years,' Dest said.

'Pulisic is a great player, he's fast, (and) good at dribbling, I saw in the first couple of training sessions before I made my debut against Mexico, he was almost unstoppable.

'And then in the games you see it, he plays well. Hopefully, we can get a good connection on the field and can play with each other very well.'
