Blues linked with Isco bid

A report in Spain claims Chelsea are looking to sign Real Madrid playmaker Isco during the January transfer window, says the Daily Star.

Citing the report by El Desmarque, the Star suggests the Spanish giants could be looking to find a buyer for the 27-year-old, who has been in and out of the team since Zinedine Zidane returned to the Bernabeu earlier this year.

‘A promising performance in the El Clasico stalemate could earn Isco a stay of execution but the Premier League club have slapped an offer on [Real Madrid president] Fiorentino Perez’s desk,’ states the report.

‘Perez is considering the proposal despite it meeting the asking price he set for Isco in last summer’s transfer window.’

Burnley interested in Gallagher loan?

According to the Daily Mail, Conor Gallagher’s loan deal with Charlton Athletic could be cut short in January with Burnley reportedly keen on bringing in the Chelsea midfielder for the second half of the season.

The 19-year-old, who was Chelsea's Academy Player of the Year last season, has impressed on loan at the Championship club during the first half of the season, raising the possibility he may step up a division at the start of the new year.

‘Burnley scouts have taken keen interest and manager Sean Dyche is eager to improve his midfield after the disappointing impact of Danny Drinkwater's loan from Chelsea,’ states the Mail’s report.

‘Gallagher is a box to box midfielder with plenty of energy who has scored six goals while on loan and his departure would prove a big loss for Lee Bowyer's side.

‘It is understood Chelsea have an option to recall Gallagher who made an impact for England U21s too last month with a stunning goal against Albania.’

But while it has been reported Drinkwater could be going to Turkish side Besiktas in January after playing only two matches on loan for the Clarets, Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists he could still retain the services of the 29-year-old.

‘He has had a spell out but I think he is generally enjoying what we have to offer here,’ said Dyche to the Lancashire Telegraph.

‘Obviously he wants more game time but he understands that, having missed so long, that that is a process. Chelsea I think are happy with what he is trying to achieve here and he is working hard. We will wait and see.

‘We will see if he can get himself a shirt and play well for us.’

Fabregas reacts to Shearer’s team of decade list

Alan Shearer may have included a number of players with Chelsea connections in his team of the decade, as reported yesterday on our website, but one former Blue who was not included in his list has sparked amusement from the former England captain.

After viewing the BBC pundit’s line-up, which included his former Chelsea team-mates Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas shared his view on the selection with a humorous reply to the Instagram post.

‘Not good enough’, wrote the Spaniard with a winking face emoji accompanying his message.

The comment by the two-time Premier League winner was well received by Shearer, who responded to the post with a rolling on the floor laughing emoji.
