Rudiger available to offer transfer advice
Antonio Rudiger has made himself available to help with any of Chelsea’s German transfer targets.
Speaking to BILD’s Christian Falk, the centre-back admitted to having good relationships with David Alaba, Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule, who have all been linked with the Blues.
‘If Chelsea were interested in one of the three players as a transfer target I would be available to answer any questions,’ Rudiger said.
‘I know Boateng and Sule very well and I’ve already had contact with David Alaba.’
The 27-year-old has been an important part of Thomas Tuchel’s back three as we have won five games in a row in all competitions.
Since the German head coach’s arrival, no opponent has scored past the Blues, with Rudiger’s own goal being the only one conceded in the Tuchel era.
The German international is determined to help the club grow and strengthen to continue winning trophies.
‘If I can help the club, then anytime. I don’t have the envy factor.’
Mbappe on Cobham trip
Kylian Mbappe reveals he had to get a picture with Didier Drogba to prove he trained at Chelsea to his friends.
In his Players Tribune article, the World Cup winner opened up on his trial at Chelsea and how his friends from Bondy, a little suburb in Paris, were so happy for him.
‘When I was 11, I got to go to London to train for a few days with Chelsea’s youth team,’ Mbappe wrote. ‘I was so shocked I didn’t even want to tell my friends.
‘When I came back home, my friends saw me and asked me where I was last week. I told them I was in London with Chelsea. They said it was not possible. I said, “I swear I even met Drogba”. They said “you're lying. Drogba doesn’t meet kids from Bondy. It’s not possible”.’
However, the Paris Saint-Germain attacker did have a picture with the Ivorian and revealed how happy his friends were for him.
‘I asked my dad to give me his phone and I showed them the pictures we took,’ he added. ‘The most important thing was that they were not jealous. Not at all.
‘They were looking down at the phone, laughing shaking their heads. They said, “wow, it’s like we are living this moment with you, Kylian. That’s how much this means to us”.’
Flick believes Blues will go far
Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick believes Chelsea will have more success in the Champions League this season.
Speaking to France Football, the German admitted that the quality in the squad and the arrival of Thomas Tuchel could push the Blues to go a long way in this season’s competition.
‘Chelsea have massive potential both in terms of quality and quantity,’ Flick said. ’It’s a young team with a lot of talent.
‘They can go far in the Champions League this season.’
Flick coached Bayern to their first Champions League triumph since 2013. His side also recently became the second team in history to do the sextuple (six trophies in one calendar year) after their Club World Cup triumph.
The German also had praise for the Blues manager, who he faced in last season’s Champions League final.
‘Tuchel has gained experience at Paris-Saint Germain that will benefit him at Chelsea.
‘He’s ready for this challenge.’
