Chelsea linked with Chalov deal

According to the Express, Chelsea are planning a move for young CSKA Moscow striker Fyodor Chalov this month as Frank Lampard seeks to bolster his side for the second half of the season.

The paper reports the Blues are plotting a £20million January move for the Russian after postponing plans to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and Moussa Dembele from Lyon.

‘Both of those players are unlikely to be allowed to leave by their clubs in January and it is understood Chelsea are lining up Chalov as a back-up option,’ states the report.

The 21-year-old scored 15 goals last year for CSKA, a club Chelsea have a good relationship with, and this year he has netted six so far.

‘Chelsea are looking for back up for top scorer Tammy Abraham in January, and Chalov would provide a quick fix for Lampard as he seeks to secure a top-four finish.

‘They could then return for Werner or Dembele in the summer, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho also on their radar to bolster their attack.’

Emerson linked with Inter move

Emerson could be heading back to Serie A this month with the Independent reporting Inter Milan are ready to make an offer for the Italy international defender.

While Inter appear to be the front-runners to sign the former Roma full-back, a move is only likely to be sanctioned if Chelsea can sign a replacement for the 25-year-old.

‘Left-backs Emerson and Marcos Alonso have both fallen out of favour under Lampard, however, either departure would leave Chelsea even shorter on options in what is already seen as the team’s most vulnerable position,’ states the report.

‘The Independent understands Juventus have also shown an interest in the 25-year-old, who joined Chelsea on a four-and-a-half-year contract in January 2018, but Antonio Conte’s side are considered the more likely destination if any move was sanctioned.

‘It’s well-known that Ben Chilwell is Frank Lampard’s preferred target at left-back, but Leicester have been bullish about not selling any key players in January after their fantastic start to the season.’

More loan interest in Gallagher

More clubs appear to be interested in making a January move for Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher who has impressed on loan at Charlton Athletic in the first half of the season, the Daily Mail reports.

It was reported last week that Burnley are eager to sign Gallagher on loan but two Championship sides are also being linked with the teenager.

‘West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City have joined Burnley in the chase for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, states the report.

‘The 19-year-old is expected to cut short his season-long loan at Charlton this month.

‘Premier League club Burnley are thought to be frontrunners for Gallagher's signature. The Clarets want the creative midfielder to replace Danny Drinkwater who is a loan target for Aston Villa.’

Gallagher has scored six goals and providing three assists in 24 Championship appearances for Charlton in his first season in senior football.
