Aguero not sorry for controversial tackle

According to the Daily Mail, Sergio Aguero has made no apology for a couple of bad tackles he dished out to David Luiz when the Brazilian played for Chelsea, explaining he got ‘mad’ on both occasions.

The former Blues defender twice found himself on the wrong end of challenges by the Manchester City striker, who went unpunished for a tackle from behind in the 2013 FA Cup semi-final but was sent off after putting his studs in the Brazilian’s knee during our 3-1 win at the Etihad Stadium in December 2016.

The latter incident triggered off a melee between the two teams but Aguero put his offence down to something which happened in the heat of the moment.

‘It got messy. I got mad. I got in a huff,' explained the Argentinian while watching a video of the tackle.

‘I get a lot of kicks. And well, I already knew [I would be sent off].

‘“You can leave,” the referee said. I can't protest. That is from the hood. Those are neighbourhood tackles. And I got up as if nothing had happened.'

Chelsea reportedly express interest in Kurzawa

According to Metro, a report in France indicates Chelsea are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa, who is set to become a free agent at the end of this month.

Kurzawa has been linked with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid but the new report indicates the Blues have also taken an interest in the 27-year-old.

‘According to France Football, the west London club made contact with Kurzawa’s agents "a few days ago" to register their interest in signing the experienced full-back,’ states the report.

‘The 27-year-old is set to become a free agent with his contract due to expire on June 30 and the report states multiple top European clubs are vying for his signature.

‘Arsenal are still interested in Kurzawa after pursuing him in January, while Atletico Madrid are also keen on the French defender.

‘His representatives are said to be focusing on getting the left-back a move to La Liga or the Premier League over the Serie A, with Inter Milan and Juventus also coming close to signing him in the last transfer window.’

Johnson feels Chilwell will be a good fit at Chelsea

Former Chelsea full-back Glen Johnson has told TalkSport that Ben Chilwell would be a great signing if he joins the Blues from Leicester City this summer.

Johnson said he is an admirer of Chilwell and feels the 23-year-old would fit in well in Frank Lampard’s side.

“I’ve said many times I am a fan of Chilwell,’ said the former England right-back.

‘I like the way he carries himself. You don’t really hear him unless it’s football related which I like, and I think he’s the sort of player Lamps [Lampard] would connect with.

‘He’s the sort of out-and-out left-back they haven’t had for a while. I know Ashley Cole was irreplaceable, but in terms of a natural, solid left-back, I think he’ll do very well.’

‘It’s a hefty price tag, there’s no doubting that, but if [Chelsea] can get a deal for him that is reasonable then he’s a player they should try to get.’
