Vranckx ‘dreams’ of Chelsea move

The Sun is reporting that Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx dreams of one day playing for Chelsea.

The 19-year-old midfielder is making a name for himself as a promising young talent in the Bundesliga and apparently grew up supporting the Blues.

‘Aster Vranckx dreams of playing for Chelsea,’ the report states.

‘He showed exactly what he is capable of on Sunday with two goals in a 4-1 victory over Furth and Bild revealed on Monday that the teenager is a fan of Chelsea.

‘That could mean he is keen for a move to Stamford Bridge as he bids to play for the European champions.

‘It is thought he only sees Wolfsburg as a 'stepping stone' to bigger things in the future.

‘And he is specifically eyeing up the possibility of moving to one of the big clubs in either England or Spain. He is reportedly also a big fan of Real Madrid.’

Raphinha on his future plans

Reported Chelsea and Manchester United target, Raphinha, has stated he is ‘fully committed’ to Leeds despite speculation linking him with a move away from Elland Road.

The Brazilian has been linked with the Blues by some sections of the media, including the Metro, while BBC Radio Leeds have quoted the forward as being ‘totally focused on Leeds’ for the remainder of the season.

‘I’ve got a contract until 2024, my head is totally here and focused on Leeds,’ the Brazilian told BBC Radio Leeds.

The Metro have also commented further on the future of the Brazilian.

‘Leeds United star Raphinha insists he is totally focused on playing for the club amid speculation linking him with Premier League giants Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea,’ states the report.

‘The Brazil international is likely to be one of the most in-demand players in world football this coming summer – when he will only have two years left on his contract – and is wanted by a host of clubs.

‘West Ham reportedly had a club-record £50million bid rejected in January, while there were suggestions Bayern Munich had been confident of prising him away from Elland Road in the winter.

‘There will be even more interest in Raphinha in the summer, with Chelsea and Manchester United both in the market for a new right winger and considering moves for the 25-year-old.’

Okocha hails Mendy

Former Bolton man Jay Jay Okocha has labelled Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy as the ‘best in the world’.

Mendy played a pivotal role as his Senegal side defeated Egypt to win the Africa Cup of Nations at the weekend, with former Nigeria international Okocha suitably impressed with Edou’s performances – for both club and country – as reported by Football.London.

Talking to SuperSport, the former Bolton Wanderers man said: ‘Since he signed for Chelsea his potential came out and we knew little about him before then.

‘It shows when you are in a good league and when you are competing every week, you keep improving.

‘He showed in this competition that it’s not a fluke that he’s the best goalkeeper in the world and I think that award must have gone to him because of the amount of clean sheets that he kept.’
