Chelsea linked with Feyenoord youngster Kokcu

According to Dutch football site Football Oranje, a report in the Netherlands indicates Chelsea are interested in attacking midfielder Orkun Kokcu, who has become a key player for Feyenoord this season at the age of 19.

Born in the Netherlands to Turkish parents, Kokcu has played regularly this season for the Rotterdam club, who are currently third in the Eredivisie after a 12-match unbeaten run which includes an ongoing streak of seven straight wins.

The report suggests his form has attracted interest from a number of clubs including Chelsea.

‘The Turkish youngster has a contract in Rotterdam until mid-2023 but Feyenoord are considering a new deal for Kokcu, who is now being followed by several clubs,’ states the website.

‘According to Voetbal International, Sevilla, Valencia and Real Betis from Spain are all battling for the midfielder, along with English duo Arsenal and Chelsea. Turkish clubs are also in the running.

‘Kokcu himself is said to be interested in staying at Feyenoord for another year in order to develop his game under Dick Advocaat, who has completely turned the club’s fortunes around this season.

‘Should Feyenoord tie their young star down to a new deal, he could raise an even bigger fee in the summer of 2021, especially if he can star for Turkey at this summer’s European Championships.’

Willian seeks longer contract

Goal.com reports Willian is looking for a three-year contract extension with Chelsea but has yet to come to an agreement with the club on a new deal.

Citing an interview given by the Chelsea winger to Esporte Interativo, the report indicates the Brazilian is at odds with the Blues, who have offered only a two-year extension to his current contract.

‘It’s a difficult situation because Chelsea offered me two years and they are not going to change what they offered. I said I wanted three more years,’ said the winger.

‘The situation is difficult because of this. I really don’t know if it will be possible [to stay]. My goal is to continue working and focus on the remainder of the season, so that Chelsea can continue winning games.

‘I have a clear head and focused for the rest of the season that we have left. I think it’s difficult [to stay]. Let's see what happens.’

Rocker Bon Jovi reveals Bayern’s secret to success

Speaking to TalkSport, American rock star Jon Bon Jovi has cheekily suggested the consumption of alcohol may have contributed to Bayern Munich’s powerful strong performance in their Champions League match at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Bon Jovi, who is in London to record a song in aid of the Invictus Game, shared a hotel with the Bayern players and gave some insight into their preparations for the game on Monday evening.

‘I was minding my own business in the bar and the team were in there the night before last,’ he said on Wednesday.

‘How on the power of whiskey and beer they overpowered Chelsea last night, doesn’t say much for Chelsea’s drinking habits, I imagine.

‘The Bayern guys were certainly sipping whiskey and having a good old time, and then they went and shellacked Chelsea!

‘And now I’m going to get everyone in trouble!’
