Mia Fishel has returned home to the USA after completing a permanent transfer to Seattle Reign.

The forward’s two-year spell at Kingsmeadow comes to an end, as she leaves Chelsea to join Seattle of the National Women’s Soccer League in America, where she will play alongside Blues legend Ji So-Yun.

Fishel joined Chelsea from Mexican side Tigres ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season and made an instant impact, heading in our first goal during the 2-1 opening-day win over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on her debut.

She added further goals in the Women’s FA Cup and Women’s Champions League to that Women’s Super League strike, before her campaign was cut short by injury in February.

The USA international returned from her absence in March of this year, coming off the bench as we beat Manchester City in the WSL, having been an unused substitute when we defeated the same opponents in the Women’s League Cup final a week earlier.

She made three further WSL appearances before the end of the season, getting back on the scoresheet in a 4-0 victory against Crystal Palace, as we closed in on the league title.

It means Fishel leaves Chelsea as a two-time WSL champion and a Treble winner, with a total of four goals in 21 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

Chelsea thank Mia for her contribution during two hugely successful seasons for the club and wish her continued success for her future career.
