On the day Chelsea captain Millie Bright bids farewell to supporters, two permanent tributes to our inspirational and era-defining defender have been unveiled at Stamford Bridge.
Bright called time on her illustrious playing career last month, bringing an end to a Chelsea career that spanned 12 years and included 314 appearances and 20 trophies. In the modern era, the Blues have not lifted silverware with Bright present.
She was also a key figure in England’s triumph on home soil at the 2021 European Championship, which ignited greater interest in women’s football across the country, and captained the Lionesses to the 2023 World Cup final.
This afternoon, as Chelsea take on Manchester United in our final game of the 2025/26 season, Bright will say goodbye to the Blues faithful. And ahead of the game, her place in the pantheon of club legends was cemented.
A new installation recounting her Chelsea story and success has been installed opposite the Shed Wall – fittingly alongside the iconic Emma Hayes, who alongside Bright guided the Blues to unrivalled success.
Bright will not be leaving Chelsea. She will stay on as a club ambassador and as a trustee of our foundation, continuing her passionate work in supporting others, which began while she was representing us on the pitch.
To commemorate her years of dedication to helping others, the sensory room at Stamford Bridge, located in the lower tier East Stand, has also been named in Bright’s honour.
So, if you’re at Stamford Bridge today for our WSL fixture or in the future, walk by the Shed Wall and the Tea Bar and take a look at this latest feature and fully deserved accolade for a true Chelsea legend.
