Millie Bright has urged her Chelsea team to continue to build momentum during tonight's Champions League clash with Paris FC as the Blues chase four trophies this season.

The skipper has put any disappointment from a 1-1 draw against FC Twente in the Women's Champions League last week firmly behind her, following Sunday's 1-0 win over Spurs, and explained how the side has naturally regrouped to be ready for a new challenge as we take on Paris FC at Stamford Bridge.

‘I think upon reflection, we see it as a point gained, not two points lost,’ Bright said about the draw in the Netherlands. ‘I think it's important to be patient in the new Champions League format and remain grounded because every point matters. It’s a point gained, a point on the board.

‘Of course, we wanted to go out and win that game. We wanted to start in a better way, but I don't think it's the end of the world that we drew.

‘Our mentality is to win and to be the best team, so we didn't really need to do much rallying. I think we got straight back out on the training pitch. The girls showed a great response, and that began against Tottenham.

‘Keeping that momentum going into tomorrow's game is going to be a challenge. Every game is a test in football with the level that it's at now, and that’s especially the case in the Champions League.’

Chelsea have played seven games so far in the new season, and head coach Sonia Bompastor has alternated between a back four and a back three in defence.

Changes are nothing new for Bright, who has been representing the Blues for the past 11 years, and she’s happy to keep learning.

‘It's something we've done over the years, and I think it's something that every team has in its locker,’ the captain continued. ‘At this level, you have to be adaptable; you have to be able to play in different ways.

‘To be honest, I'm just playing football. I love playing and being with my teammates regardless of what shape we're in. Each system offers very different things, and it depends on what we’re coming up against.

‘I think it's another string to our bow, it's good to have. It takes a little bit of adapting to start with because of new connections and stuff, but everyone's willing to learn in this environment. That's the most important thing.

‘You've got to find different ways to beat the opposition. Sometimes a change in shape is required, and it's good to be able to do both.’
