Moises Caicedo felt this season’s hard work had been vindicated, as he and his team-mates lifted the Conference League trophy following a memorable 4-1 win over Real Betis in the final.

It was a great night in Wroclaw as the Blues came back from a goal down, firing back in style courtesy of strikes from Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho and Caicedo himself.

The Ecuadorian’s goal cued mass celebrations with the travelling supporters - and on the team bench too! It's been quite the season for Caicedo, with the midfielder landing both Chelsea’s Player’s Player and Player of the Season awards, as well as playing a pivotal role as Enzo Maresca's Blues secured a European trophy and Champions League football for next term.

But Caicedo isn’t done here. He’s hoping this is just the start of something special at Stamford Bridge.

‘I’m so happy,’ he opened, speaking after the game. ‘It’s a medal that I am always going to remember. It is thanks to God and it is because of him I am here. Everybody is happy and we will celebrate this.

‘It’s the first of many, for sure. We want to win a lot of trophies for this amazing club and we are going to do it for sure.’

It’s clear. Moises joined Chelsea to win trophies.

He added: ‘It’s true, winning is why I came here - everyone is so talented and professional. I’m so happy for how it went tonight. It’s been a brilliant season and tonight we’ve added a trophy on top.’

The 23-year-old was also sporting a new haircut during the game with the midfielder replicating his look from last season’s final day when he scored our Goal of the Season from the halfway line against Bournemouth.

He explained: ‘When I put this colour [in my hair], I score goals! So it’s why I put this colour in.’
