And then there were four. A month ago, 32 teams from all over the globe arrived in America with the target of becoming Club World Cup champions. Tonight, Chelsea have the chance to secure a place in Sunday’s final. It is a challenge Moises Caicedo can’t wait for.

Fluminense stand between us and the tournament showpiece. The Brazilian side, captained by Blues legend Thiago Silva, are unbeaten so far, having drawn with Borussia Dortmund and defeated Inter Milan along the way.

Caicedo is well aware of their strengths, and knows from our previous encounters with Flamengo and Palmeiras just how tight it will be. On his return from suspension, the Ecuadorian expects the Blues to deliver another standout showing.

We are looking forward to this game and we have prepared well, trained well,’ said Caicedo.

‘It’s so important for us. Brazilian teams have shown in the tournament how good they are and it’s going to be a great battle.

‘I am looking forward to the game. It will be a tough game and I can’t wait to play and show why we are still here [in this tournament].’

Caicedo is one of those in blue coming up against a familiar face. His first season at Stamford Bridge overlapped with Thiago Silva’s last, and our midfielder lit up the defender’s final match against Bournemouth with a spectacular strike from the halfway line.

Tonight they will be on opposing sides, however. Caicedo says we must meet the 40-year-old’s high standards.

‘He is a legend as you know. He will, for sure, have a great game and we are happy to face him. But we are going to show our level also.’
