The Club World Cup will bring together players from all over the globe, and ahead of the tournament starting, we asked members of the Chelsea squad to choose their favourite footballing XI. Moises Caicedo is first up…

The rules are simple: you can pick any footballer, from any era, to comprise the team, and in the formation of your choosing.

It doesn't necessarily have to be what they consider to be their 'best' XI, a player could be included because they were a childhood friend or a player they looked up to as a kid. The key word here is 'favourite', meaning it is subjective to each individual player.

Here is the team Moi went for, with a brief explanation as to why each player was included. It is fair to say we are off to a strong start!

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer

He is good in goal and with the ball also. He tries to play with his feet. He is so good.

Right-back: Antonio Valencia

He was so quick and intelligent with the ball. He defended really well. He is a hero for everyone in Ecuador.

Centre-back: Sergio Ramos

I like his character. He is always helping the team when he was playing or not playing. He is a leader.

Centre-back: Thiago Silva

I learned so much from him. His character off the pitch was amazing. Such a good guy who always tried to help us in any way. He brought his quality and his intelligence from everything he had done in his career to us. The way he trained, he worked so hard. He was an inspiration for us.

Left-back: Roberto Carlos

He was such an attacking player with so much threat from left-back, and he would work well with his fellow Brazilian Thiago.

Central midfielder: N’Golo Kante

Kante is so good at defending. He fights for every ball. He is so consistent, always showing his best. He has high standards.

Central midfielder: Zinedine Zidane

What a player. Zizou had so much quality. So intelligent. He knew where to put the ball and he could put it anywhere. He was amazing with the ball and I loved watching him.

Central midfielder: Yaya Toure

He was so strong and so explosive. He had a very powerful shot, and was such a powerful runner.

Right wing: Lionel Messi

Striker: Cristiano Ronaldo

Left wing: Neymar

I am going to talk about these three together. You can’t argue with them! They are going to destroy the opposition defenders! Messi’s quality, Neymar’s dribbling, Cristiano’s finishing. Messi intelligent also. For sure they are going to connect with each other really well.

Final thoughts?

The defence could speak Spanish, the midfield could speak French, and the attack could also speak Spanish!

I don’t know who is going to take the free-kicks or the penalties! But I would choose Yaya Toure on free-kicks as he was so accurate.
