Monty Leach, a Chelsea fan from New Zealand, enjoyed his ‘best day ever’ at Cobham courtesy of Chelsea Foundation.
The 14-year-old, who is currently fighting a brain tumour, travelled from New Zealand with his mum Jiselle, dad Brent and brother Charlie for the exclusive experience.
After joining a Q&A session in the press room with Chelsea TV’s Lee Parker and Jack Francis from the Academy, Monty met with one of his idols, John Terry, before stepping out onto the training pitch to watch his heroes in action ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
To their amazement, at the end of the session, Monty and his family were handed the gift of tickets to Sunday’s big match at Wembley Stadium, courtesy of the squad.
Marcus Bettinelli, Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic presented Monty with the tickets after he had met with the rest of the team, who also signed memorabilia for him.
Monty said: ‘The best day ever! It’s been amazing to meet all of the players and I can’t believe I have tickets for Sunday, I can’t wait!’
