The squad number Morgan Rogers will wear for Chelsea following his transfer from Aston Villa has been confirmed.
Rogers completed his switch to Stamford Bridge yesterday. The 23-year-old, who represented England at the World Cup, has signed a contract with the Blues until 2033.
‘For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I've always admired since I was a kid,' said Rogers after officially becoming a Chelsea player.
‘I'm really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we've got and where the club is heading. That's why I'm here and I can't wait to get started.’
Rogers will join up with Xabi Alonso's squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. And when he steps out onto the pitch as a Chelsea player, he will do so wearing the No.17 shirt.
It is the squad number that Rogers wore for England during the World Cup – and it has previously been worn at Chelsea by the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Mateo Kovacic.
