Rogers continued his impressive start to life at the Bridge by netting early in our 2-2 draw with the Tigers. It was his third of the season already, and his first strike on home soil.

Having also assisted Pedro Neto in the win over Brighton, Rogers has a goal contribution to his name in every league fixture so far.

Only his Blues team-mate Joao Pedro, with whom he has already linked up so well, has registered more combined goals and assists in the Premier League this term (six). And if you include the Carabao Cup, Rogers ranks top of all Premier League players for goals and assists after setting up half of the six we scored against Leeds in midweek.

The attacker’s ten chances created in the Premier League is a figure bettered by only four players so far, while he ranks third for shots taken after a ball carry.

It's been a very promising start to our new signing’s time as a Blue, and this achievement puts him in good company. Here are the four other Chelsea players who have also scored or assisted in our opening four fixtures of the campaign, starting with the first to do it…

Didier Drogba – 2010/11

Drogba scored a hat-trick on the final day of the 2009/10 season to finish as the Premier League’s top goalscorer, and he picked up where he left off when the action resumed the following August.

The Ivorian netted a treble on the opening day in a 6-0 thrashing of West Bromwich Albion. We won by the same scoreline at Wigan Athletic the following weekend, with Drogba providing a hat-trick of assists on that occasion.

He then scored in a 2-0 win over Stoke, set up a goal in a 3-1 victory at Upton Park and, for good measure, created two more as we continued our blistering start to the season by beating Blackpool 4-0.

Cesc Fabregas - 2014/15

Like Rogers, Cesc Fabregas wasted little time showing what he was capable of having left Barcelona for Chelsea in the summer of 2014.

His assist for Andre Schurrle in our opening-day triumph at Burnley ranks among our very greatest in the Premier League era, and he also set up Branislav Ivanovic’s goal that day.

Fabregas was at his creative best in each of our next three games, too, assisting goals in the wins over Leicester, Everton and Swansea City that maintained our flawless start to what would ultimately be a title-winning campaign.

Diego Costa – 2014/15 and 2016/17

Diego Costa was the main beneficiary of Fabregas’ talent. The striker is the only player on this list to feature twice, with his start to life at the Bridge in 2014 especially eye-catching.

After scoring on his debut – in that win at Burnley – and then his first outing on home soil, against Leicester, the Spain international bagged a brace in an epic 6-3 win over Everton and went one better the next weekend, taking home the match ball as Swansea were seen off 4-2. Fabregas set up three of those seven early-season goals.

Two seasons later, Diego Costa repeated the trick, scoring against West Ham, Watford and Swansea, as well as laying on a goal for Willian in a victory over Burnley at the Bridge.

Eden Hazard - 2018/19

Before Rogers, Eden Hazard was the most recent Chelsea player to score or assist in the first four league games of the season.

The brilliant Belgian achieved that feat in his final year with the Blues. He created goals in the wins against Huddersfield and Arsenal that started life under Maurizio Sarri on a high, before finding the net himself as we defeated Newcastle United and Bournemouth.

In our fifth game of that campaign, Hazard scored a treble against Cardiff City – something for Rogers to aim for when we meet Brentford on Friday!
