Mykhailo Mudryk's first goal at Stamford Bridge has been chosen by supporters as the October Chelsea Goal of the Month.

The Ukrainian winger joined Chelsea at the start of the year and scored his first two goals for the Blues during October, with both those efforts being nominated for our Goal of the Month honour.

Mykhailo Mudryk's first was away at Fulham in a 2-0 win, but it was his second, in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, which was the overwhelming choice of the Chelsea supporters casting their votes on the club's official website and app, taking a massive 89 per cent of the poll.

It was certainly a worthy winner, as Mudryk spotted the Gunners goalkeeper David Raya out of position and took full advantage, lofting an effort over the stranded Spaniard and into the back of the net from a tight angle, all with his less-favoured left foot. However, he admitted that some of the credit must go to the coaching staff at Cobham.

‘It was something in the middle, between a cross and a shot,’ explained Mudryk after the Arsenal match. ‘Before the game, our goalkeeper coach told me to look at their keeper because sometimes he is trying to read things and he can just lose the goal, so I can chip him.

‘So it was something I knew and I kept it in my head. I went for something between the cross and the shot and it was a good decision.’

The Ukrainian's other goal against Fulham was a distant second with six per cent of the votes, and he also saw off competition from Nicolas Jackson, Lauren James, Sjoeke Nusken, Erin Cuthbert and Tyrique George to be chosen as the scorer of the best goal in October from across our men's, women's and Academy sides.

Congratulations Mykhailo!
