In the next article of our summer series speaking to Chelsea players about their first memories of attending matches, two experienced Blues cast their minds back…
Thiago Silva
I’m not sure it was the first game I went to but the earliest I can remember was at the Maracana. It was such a big stadium, it was overwhelming at first.
It was a game between Fluminense and Sao Paulo – a huge game – and I went with my brother-in-law. It was 2-1 to Fluminense, I think, but it was a long time ago.
The players that stand out in my mind from that game were guys called Magno Alves and Roni, who was in attack that day.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
I was three years old and my father was playing so I went to the game with my mum, and I remember it because at half-time I wanted to play as well. So we took like a ball of paper and we tried to play with some friends.
This was in France in Le Havre, and it was the first ever time I went to the stadium. I will always remember it because when I came into the stadium I saw the fans and it was amazing.
