Chelsea may have finished the domestic season unbeaten but Nathalie Bjorn believes this side are just getting started.

The Blues capped off a sensational season with a 3-0 victory over Manchester United on the hallowed turf at Wembley Stadium, adding the FA Cup to our Women’s Super League and League Cup titles.

For Bjorn, who has now completed her first full season at the club, the triumph marked the perfect end to the campaign.

The Sweden international featured throughout the match and played a key role in a defence that kept Manchester United at bay in front of a vibrant and atmospheric setting in the capital.

‘It feels amazing,’ Bjorn said shortly after the final whistle. ‘I think it still needs to sink in a bit! It’s an amazing feeling finishing the season on a high and winning at Wembley after an incredible year from our side.

‘We’re definitely going to enjoy ourselves. We had great celebrations in the locker room with everyone – the team, the staff – and we listened to good music with good vibes. Singing, dancing and now we’re going to meet up with family and friends.’

The centre-half also took a moment to reflect on the magnitude of our domestic dominance this season.

‘It’s a great achievement to be undefeated in the WSL,’ she continued. ‘It hasn’t sunk in after the incredible season we’ve had. Winning the WSL, the League Cup and now this – you face tough opponents in these competitions. I think it shows what sort of a squad we have.’

Bjorn also credited the togetherness and quality within the Blues camp, expressing her excitement for what lies ahead under Sonia Bompastor.

‘It feels like just the start of a journey,’ she reflected. ‘It always takes time when you get someone new in, and then you want to understand how they want to play, and get the best out of everyone, so to enjoy this first season with everyone is incredible. It’s the start of something really good.’

The electric atmosphere at Wembley was not lost on the 28-year-old, who relished every moment of the occasion.

Nat added: ‘Even in the warm-up, it was such a great feeling to be playing in front of all these fans at Wembley, and this stadium is amazing, so I’m so happy to have this experience. It’s an amazing feeling.

‘Just goosebumps. Standing in the tunnel ready to go out, you’re focused, you’re ready and have the adrenaline heading out towards this ocean of blue. When we scored, it was an amazing feeling to hear our fans.’
