Chelsea is pleased to confirm Jimi Tauriainen has signed a new contract until June 2027.

The midfielder joined the Blues in 2020 from Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi in his native Finland.

Having featured for our Under-18 and Under-21 sides, he was named among the subs for the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium in February 2024.

In our next game, an FA Cup fifth round tie against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge, he made his senior debut when he entered the pitch as a late substitute.

He then recorded his first Premier League appearance, coming off the bench in a home win over Tottenham. An injury sustained in pre-season kept Tauriainen out of action in 2024/25, but this new contract confirms he will remain a Blue. Congratulations, Jimi!
